The mission of the MMLC is to support and facilitate the teaching by WCAS faculty in all academic areas by raising awareness of and assisting in the effective implementation of emerging technologies and innovative pedagogical methods. Beyond its role within WCAS and Northwestern, the MMLC maintains a leadership role among humanities computing and language teaching centers nationwide.

Where Did Grandfather Go?

The MMLC welcomes to Northwestern University from France Mr. Michel Yačche, whose testimony figures in the Picpus Digital Archives project curated by the MMLC. Mr. Yačche was a French-born Jewish teenager living in Paris during the German occupation. His family, originally from Salonica, was cruelly divided by the policies that initially protected Jews considered French citizens over those who were not. The talk will take place in Harris Hall, room 107, on Sunday, April 6, 2008, from 2-3 p.m. |
MMLC Makes Moodle Available

Starting this quarter, the MMLC has made available on a limited basis, a trial installation of Moodle, an award-winning open-source couse management system. The alternative CMS offers an enhanced multi-lingual option to Blackboard and is currently in use by three Portuguese language courses. |
