Paul
North is a Ph.D. student in Comparative Literary
Studies and German. After a BA in Englis Literature
from SUNY Binghamton, he received an MA in Comparative
Literature
from The Graduate Center of the City University
of NY. His areas of interest include Ancient Greek literature
and philosophy; Latin American literature; the
history
of aesthetics; Romanticism; German critical thought.
Currently, he is writing a dissertation that traces
the
ramifications of a noetic-noematic problem, arising
simultaneously but independently in the thought of
Martin Heidegger
and Walter Benjamin, and in the fictions of Franz
Kafka and Jorge Luis Borges.
